Our Apartment for RentBorgo di Colleoli is set on 23 acres of vineyards and olive groves, the Borgo is a medieval village, halfway between Florence and Pisa, in the hills of Tuscany. Once a working estate, the original buildings of this aptly named "Village of the Hill of Olives" have been accurately restored to create a relaxing and beautiful getaway.Here we have for rent a One Bedroom Apartment situated within this estate surrounding an elegantly restored 15th Century Renaissance Villa set in its own olive groves. The estate's outbuildings, granaries, barns, stables have been converted into luxury apartments. The local Tuscan flavour has been carefully maintained in the conversions with exposed beams and terracotta floors but at the same time every up-to-date amenity has been provided. Our particular flat has central heating / air conditioning, TV, DVD, Radio/CD and telephone. Its kitchen is equipped with fridge, hob, microwave and grill. It comprises living room with kitchen area, bedroom with anteroom/dressing area and a bathroom with shower. The bedroom has a double bed and there is a sofa bed in the living area allowing a total of 4 to be accommodated. The dining area has a table for 4. The apartment is on the first floor and there is no wheelchair access so it is not suitable for elderly or infirm visitors. Sorry, pets are not allowed. Out of doors there are two swimming pools, one of these is heated and has a separate kiddies section. Besides swimming and enjoying the sun other local activities are cycling, walking and horse riding with stables just 200m away. Beach access: 1hr to Marina di Pisa or 1hr 30mins to Viareggio. Golf: There is also an 18 hole golf course at Castelfalfi just 30mins drive away. Skiing: 2 hrs away at Abetone. While everything is available for self catering in the flat there are eating facilities within the estate. There is a quality restaurant in the Villa and an Enoteca, a wine bar, which serves pasta and pizza etc. both indoors and alfresco. Immediately outside the grounds is a pizzeria and just a few hundred yards away there are two more restaurants. Further a field Palaia, about 2miles away, has several restaurants while the surrounding area offers many more delightful places to sample the gastronomic delights of local Tuscan fare. |
